The new Mahle Motorsport bearing range contains technology transferred from Mahle’s F1 bearing technology. All bearings in this range are identified by laser marking rather than stamping.

Benefits of laser marking:

The most economical method of identifying a bearing is stamping. For motorsport applications where higher temperatures are experienced, the effectiveness of heat transfer to the housing must not be compromised. If the stamping is heavy and extends significantly around the bearing, causing poor back contact, heat transfer efficiency will be reduced.

Laser marking is an alternative method that creates a smaller and more consistent mark that does not distort the backing and, as such, does not interrupt back contact and the subsequent heat transfer.

Suitable only for race engines using a narrow journal steel crank (19 mm bearing journal width)
