The 10 Most Sought-After Classic Cars in 2026
The classic car market in 2026 remains active despite broader economic uncertainty. Some established models hold steady valuations, others are emerging as new investment plays, and a handful — the rarest — break records year on year. Below is our list of the ten cars collectors and restorers are asking about the most this year, based on real enquiries to CM Stores.
1. Porsche 911 air-cooled (1964-1998)
Any air-cooled 911 variant remains the absolute king of the classic market. The SC, the Carrera 3.2 and the 964 Carrera 2/4 are the most sought-after by price-to-driving-pleasure ratio. A good 993 (the last air-cooled) now exceeds €100,000.
2. Ferrari 308 GTB/GTS
The first attainable production Ferrari. Steady valuations between €80,000 and €150,000 depending on version and condition. Demand is high because of its iconic status and because it “can still be used regularly” without ruining you in maintenance.
3. BMW E30 M3
The original M3 keeps climbing every year. Sport Evolution and Cecotto editions hover around €250,000. A regular E30 M3 with historic registration tops €100,000.
4. Mercedes Pagoda W113 (250 SL, 280 SL)
The elegant convertible par excellence. The late-build 280 SLs with Pagoda hardtop are the most coveted, especially with manual gearbox. Range €90,000-€180,000.
5. Lancia Delta Integrale Evo
The 90s rally icon. Homologated Evo I and Evo II cars have moved from “attainable” to serious investment territory. Original-bodywork examples now exceed €90,000.
6. Ford Escort MK2 RS / Mexico
The 70s rally Escorts are enjoying a second life. A concours RS2000 MK2 already asks €60,000-€90,000. Genuine MK1 Mexicos break €100,000.
7. Jaguar E-Type Series 1 (1961-1968)
The most beautiful car ever made, according to Enzo Ferrari. Series 1 examples with the 3.8L engine and triple SU carburettors are the most sought-after. A good roadster sits around €250,000; a coupé between €120,000 and €180,000.
8. Alfa Romeo GTV 2000
Affordable Italian beauty. A well-restored Bertone GTV2000 trades between €45,000 and €75,000. Demand is consistent and original parts harder to find every year.
9. Volkswagen Golf MK1 GTI / GTD
The original hot hatch. Pre-1980 MK1 GTIs with the 1.6 engine are the most wanted. Originals sit at €35,000-€55,000.
10. Toyota Supra MK4 (A80)
The “young classic” that broke records. A manual Supra Turbo in good condition now exceeds €150,000. Contemporary GR variants are also starting to attract collector interest.
