In this Bosch 009 centrifugal advance ignition distributor, the ignition timing is retarded for the third cylinder. This means it runs cooler. It is recommended for vehicles with significant overheating problems.
The disadvantage is a slightly lower power output because the third cylinder only “keeps up” with reduced power. Adjustment angle: approx. 16°-22° at approx. 3500 r.p.m.
